Servicing All Aircraft. Born From Citation Service Center Origins.

Toledo & Fort Lauderdale
Service Centers

In the quiet hangars of Ohio's aviation world, we at Toledo Jet began our journey in 2009, born from the ashes of Textron's Citation Service Center closure—a call to adventure that summoned our band of seasoned technicians with over 30 years of expertise to forge a new path. Facing the ordeal of industry upheaval and the trials of establishing ourselves as an independent MRO provider, we crossed the threshold while allying with innovative partners for upgrades like Tamarack winglets and Gogo connectivity.

Through relentless tests of precision and our 24/7 AOG support, we evolved from Citation specialists to masters servicing all aircraft, from Learjets and Falcons to King Airs and Hawkers. Now, under new ownership in 2025, we return with the elixir of comprehensive, cost-effective excellence, empowering owners and operators to conquer the heavens with unmatched reliability and vision.

Join us and elevate your career in an environment that values your expertise, offers cutting-edge tools, and rewards your contributions.

Job Summary

As an A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Certified Aircraft Mechanic, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining, repairing, and inspecting aircraft to the highest standards of safety and performance. You'll ensure that every plane we service meets or exceeds FAA regulations, contributing directly to the operational safety and efficiency of U.S.-registered aircraft. This hands-on position involves working on a variety of aircraft systems, from airframes and powerplants to avionics and beyond, in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Whether you're troubleshooting complex issues, performing preventive maintenance, or collaborating with engineers, your work will support everything from commercial airlines to general aviation operations. We're looking for mechanics who thrive on challenges, embrace continuous learning, and are excited about transferable skills in emerging areas like unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), rotorcraft, and sustainable aviation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on aircraft airframes, powerplants, engines, propellers, and related components, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact safety or operations, returning aircraft to service in optimal condition.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using advanced diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including pilots, engineers, and quality assurance specialists, to resolve complex technical problems and implement modifications or upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work logs, parts usage, and compliance documentation, in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits, advisories, and alerts from the FAA and manufacturers to stay ahead of industry best practices.
  • Support specialized projects, such as aircraft overhauls, modifications for new technologies, or integration of avionics systems.
  • Mentor junior technicians or non-certificated staff, providing supervision and guidance to build a strong, skilled team.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies to foster a zero-incident workplace.
  • Stay current with evolving aviation technologies through ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certification: Valid FAA Aviation Mechanic Certificate with Airframe (A) and/or Powerplant (P) ratings (A&P preferred for comprehensive roles). Must have passed all required written, oral, and practical exams.
  • Experience: Minimum of 18 months of practical experience for a single rating or 30 months for both, documented through work logs, pay records, or supervisor endorsements. Military aviation maintenance experience (e.g., jet aircraft mechanics) is highly valued and can count toward requirements.
  • Education/Training: Completion of an FAA-certificated Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) program or equivalent on-the-job training. Familiarity with FAA-approved curricula covering areas like welding, woodwork, weight and balance, and aircraft systems.
  • Age and Language: At least 18 years old with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge and skills in aircraft maintenance, including proficiency with tools, equipment, and software for diagnostics and record-keeping.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy components, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. No medical certificate required, but must be able to meet job demands safely.
  • Background: Clean background check and ability to obtain necessary security clearances for airport or sensitive aviation environments.
  • Preferred: Experience in MROs, airlines, or general aviation; additional qualifications in avionics, rotorcraft, or UAS; and a passion for innovation in aviation.

Essential Skills

  • Strong technical aptitude with expertise in airframe and powerplant systems, hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose issues quickly and accurately.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to precision to uphold aviation safety standards.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Adaptability to work in varying conditions, including shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations.
  • Proficiency with FAA handbooks, technical data, and digital tools for maintenance tracking.
  • A proactive mindset for continuous improvement and staying updated on industry advisories, alerts, and emerging technologies.
